Menopause and it’s many symptoms can cause great discomfort in a woman’s life. This cooling yoga practice can help ease the symptoms of anxiety, irritability, insomnia, fatigue, depression, mood swings and memory issues by soothing the nervous system. No, it’s not a cure all, but moving the body and connecting to your breath is a great way to release stress…period.
This 30 min practice will include a moon salutation, hip openers, supported Yin-like yoga poses such as Paschimottanasana, Child’s Pose, and Saddle along with some alternate nostril breathing (pranayama). Yin-like yoga poses means poses will be held, with support from props, for a longer period of time…in this case anywhere from 2-3 minutes.
This class for Sally whom I met in one of my live classes in Sri Lanka. Her request was a class for menopause symptoms because she said, “I have them all”.
